Since I am still relatively new to Drupal as a content management system, I started by installing a theme that had the building blocks I liked and then rolled up my sleeves to get working on the css code.
CSS is where a site like this really comes to life. All the information is there, but how is it presented and organized?
Here is a before shot of the theme I installed and then an after shot to show what can be accomplished by changing around the default css file.

I find that I learn best when presented with a problem I need to solve. The best way to learn what css code does is to get in there and start breaking it down step by step. Take something ordinary and make it beautiful.
